Hi Everyone! This is Linda from Choose Hope, Inc. in the United States. We are so very happy to have Lori join up with us to fill the void in Canada. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer 9+ years ago I would have loved to come across a site like this. I felt so alone and confused. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even know what a pink ribbon stood for. I learned real fast. My cancer had spread locally and after major surgery and heavy dose chemotherapy, I'm happy to say I did it. While it wasn't fun, something did the trick and I'm here almost 10 years later and feeling great. After I completed my treatment I had a strong desire to help others. With two friends, we formed Choose Hope, Inc., the US version of Rainbow of Hope. So many people have asked what they can do to help as well. Sometimes it's as simple as wearing a lapel ribbon pin or posting a car ribbon magnet on your vehicle. With so many cancers having their own acknowledged colors, it's a great way to bring awareness. Cancer was certainly hard, but with Choose Hope, and now with Lori and Rainbow of Hope, we CAN make a difference. |
